You have been told to visualise.Nobody told you to write it down.

Everything ever built by a human being came through one doorway — a thing was held in the mind, and then it was moved into the world. Most teaching stops at the holding.

Chapter One

We Are Thoughts.
Thoughts Are Things.

Chapter One · 22% read

Before any dream gets dreamt, before any goal comes true, you must first create the thing inside yourself before it can ever appear outside of yourself. We call this First Cause. You alone are First Cause of everything in your world.

If you want control over your life — your experiences, and what is coming in the near or far future — you have to take responsibility for what you can change, and how you change it.

And here is a fact nobody says out loud: humans always want things different than they are. No matter how good or bad life is, we always want it different. When is the last time you woke up and said, “My life is perfect, and I do not want anything to change”?

Never. It is the God in us that wants things different. We talk about that wanting as if it is a bad thing — and in one specific way, it is. Wanting things different than they are is the cause of unhappiness.

When you want things different than the way they are right now, you are unhappy. Why? Because you notice how things are versus how you want them to be. In the noticing of that gap, you find unhappiness.

We always find ourselves between where we are and where we want to be. And in that finding, we also find the unhappiness. So here is the real question this book answers:

How do you become happy when you want so many things to be different?

The secret is in taking action toward what you want — so you feel the power, feel the progress — and then finding gratitude for exactly where you are on the way. If you wait to be happy until you already have everything you want, you will never be happy. Happiness is the result of action toward a goal. Even an inch of progress is enough.

This is where the free sample ends

You just felt the hook. The mechanism is next.

The rest of Chapter 1 shows you exactly how to turn a written goal into First Cause — the affirmation drills, and the five-chapter system for turning words into wealth. Keep reading in the full book.

Who it’s for

The gap between wanting it and building it

Visualising is where most instruction ends. It is also where most results end, because a thing held in the mind and never moved stays exactly where it is.

Writing is the move. It is the first act that takes something out of your head and puts it into the world where it can be worked on, corrected and finished.

Five chapters on the mechanics, each closing with its own summary, questions and affirmations, plus a glossary of all twenty-eight terms used in this teaching.

What is inside

The five chapters

  • The doorway. Where everything built by a person actually comes from, and the one step almost everyone skips.
  • Goal writing. Why the written form changes the outcome, and how to write one that holds.
  • Affirmation mastery. What an affirmation is doing mechanically, and why most of them fail.
  • Faith and the work of the mind. Imagination as an instrument rather than a mood.
  • A full glossary. Twenty-eight terms defined plainly, so the teaching can be used rather than admired.
